Golden Apples
I had a full day's supply work today, so have not had much time to take pictures. I decided to have a quick try at a still life, as I don't do this very often. I have a nice piece of gold card which I used for the background, the compot I picked up from an antique stall on the market and the apples are from our tree.
I also took the opportunity to play around with depth of field, and this shot was taken at f18 on my 100mm macro lens. Even at this aperture, the depth of field was only enough to get the compot and apples sharp, while keeping the card sufficiently out of focus to lose its texture.
We did get the predicted heavy rain this morning - it belted down shortly before break and while it wasn't so heavy, it was still coming down at lunchtime, so the children were in all day. It didn't really bode well for the afternoon, but we were in the computer suite all afternoon, working on a poster to follow up from the trip to the Eden Project yesterday. They quite enjoyed it, so it wasn't too bad. And the rain even stopped in time for the children to go home.
