Camping in Bottchers Gap

I took a trip down to Big Sur with some friends this weekend and what a trip we had. We ended up at a campground called Bottchers Gap and what a trip that was. We had no idea that BG was 9 miles in from Route 1 off a road called Palo Colorado. We drove about 3/4 of the way the first time in and thought we weren't heading in the right direction, so we headed back to Route 1 and drove until we found service on our phones. It was then we found out that BG campground is 9 miles in from the coast down the most winding scary road.

Once we go there the trip was so worth it. This is our campsite. We ended up moving sites the next day to be closer to some friends. They had a much nicer view and you didn't have to walk past the bathroom vault to get there... :)
