College Writing Lab

This is the new Writing Lab at the college. Every few years, it seems, we re-invent the wheel by recreating the Writing Lab or Writing Center. Actually this is a Writing Lab.

Last school year the college lost a million dollars of government funding because some instructors did not think the Writing Center was worthwhile and they did not enforce the policy that every student in an English composition class had to attend the Writing Center for 60 minutes a week.

So the facility has been completely re-vamped. Every hour every computer in the Lab is occupied. It has been quite interesting to see the transformation and most of it has been because of the new director of the Writing Lab. She has a job I do not want, but she is dynamic!

I work in the Lab for two hours every Tuesday afternoon.
