Life in a Northern Town

Red tree

The autumn colours are starting to appear - I hope the red tree makes up in some way for the featureless sky!

Yesterday and today have been hectic, mad days, and sober days too. In and amongst, I decided to dye my hair as I am meeting a couple of friends I haven't seen for 20 years this weekend - the result was supposed to be Golden Brown (texture like sun) but it's more full-on Goth. Even the dog did a double take when Marilyn Manson walked in. I had just arrived at the hairdressers for a quick fix and was immediately called by Sarah's school to collect her as she's poorly - not sure he can fit me in again now so I shall just have to get myself a bodice and some DMs to complete the look. It's ok though because L'Oreal says I'm worth it.

Oh, and I received 45 thank you letters from the kids I gave the volcano talk to - my favourite line "thank you for teching us abute vogans". I almost had a pang of regret about leaving the job, but that soon passed.
