Lobelia and bug among the weeds
Day got off to a gory start, removing porcupine quills from my poor dog's mouth - her first encounter. It seems they never learn, so this process will be repeated over the coming months. She's such a sweet-natured creature that I was able to pull them out, even from inside her mouth, but I'm afraid she may have one in her throat - she was choking just now. Poor dear, she looks very subdued.
Later was enchanted to find some lobelia that I found last year, where they had come to rest in a ravine after being flooded out of someone's garden. Doubted they'd survive, but they're looking very happy among the weeds. Hope the bug will concentrate on eating the weeds, not the lobelia, thought that would appear contrary to the nature of a bug.
