World on Ponsonby

Ponsonby Road has many cafes and bars and restaurants. It probably has nearly as many clothes outlets including this one. World is a fashion outlet which was started by Denise L'Estrange-Corbet. In the late 1990s she was asked to front a nationwide campaign to reduce stigma about depression. The campaign was called Like Minds Like Mine, and was very successful.

As well as developing a successful business, L'Estrange-Corbet has continued to advocate for mental health services, and has led fund-raising activities on a number of occasions.
