Crab for lunch
Reports today, so I took a break in the middle of the day for a run. The tidal Cox's Creek was very full, and the water unmoving as the inward pressure just matched the flow of the creek towards Coxs Bay.
Some months ago, council workers removed mangroves at the edge of the creek back about 10 - 15 metres. It has made it easier to see the bird life, even if there is less of it, as they seemed to like being in amongst the mangroves.
There is a recently upgraded boardwalk beside the creek, which offers a pleasant interlude in my run. A city dwelling heron was stalking prey, and I chanced to take this photo just as it had caught a small crab. It can be seen in the beak if you are able to enlarge it more than the blipfoto large version does.
