IS THIS A GOOD HIDING PLACE?

I had just remarked that I wished I had a squirrel to blip today, when this little guy ran across the deck. So now I have ESP with the squirrels?! I think he was carrying a green walnut, fresh from the tree, and was looking for a good hiding place – maybe the flowerpot! I must have been too noisy because he quickly changed his mind and ran away. Wish I’d had a better angle on him as he considered my potted geranium, but this captures the moment.

I was also surprised to see TWO male cardinals at the bird feeder today. I was fairly sure there was only one male and possibly two females in the area until I saw these two males together. (Perhaps it’s a young male that has finally developed true red feathers.) It was a busy day at the feeder today.
