The Tower

Wherever you go in Manchester it is always there, just looming over you. The Beetham Tower. I had a client meeting this morning and got stuck in traffic for the Tory conference, so with my iPod blasting out my new playlist (worked on it last night ahead of Saturday); I performed a series of nifty short-cuts and U-turns and got myself from A to B a lot quicker. All the while, there it was. Wherever I turned, the tower seemed to be looking down at me!

My meeting well went, I got some good feedback. Then it was home to a house full as the in-laws were visiting. After everything that has happened between us, I always make a point of ensuring we see them regularly. I know it's important, especially for Audrey's relationship with them. Behind the scenes, I put dates in the diary and work round my husband's schedule to make it happen. But it seems that's not enough. Sadly, I was on the end of another ear-bashing earlier about the frequency of visits. I had to go for a walk when they'd left to let off some steam. I find it hard to stop caring what they think but I just can't seem to please whatever I do in that situation sadly.

Audrey has been in an absolutely delightful mood all day which was just as well. She is making lots of lovely new cute noises and sounds. I could listen to her babbling to herself all day. I have to confess to enjoying this toddler phase....
