Autumn Flight

Most of the day has been devoid of any colour on this cold damp foggy day but this would not put off the thousands of geese that are starting to fly from countries further north to spend winter in Britain. This picture of geese is entitled Autumn Flight and painted by Benjamin Chee Chee who was a member of the Ojibway tribe in Canada. Tragically the self taught artist committed suicide at the age of 32 after a troubled personal life and just as his art was becoming much sort after for its unique style with lines and minimum colour of birds and animals giving a sense of movement.
