Meet Nilafur...@WAT_campaign

Arsenic contamination of water is widespread in Bangladesh. Arsenic cannot be seen, smelled or tasted but long-term exposure causes skin lesions and serious illness, including cancer. Ultimately it can be fatal.

This is Nilafur. The water from the nearest well to her house is contaminated with arsenic. Attending her local IMPACT Mothers’ Club, she learnt about arsenic poisoning and realised her father-in-law was showing signs.

IMPACT supplied the family with a ‘Sono’ filter to safely remove arsenic from water as they could not have afforded one otherwise and would have been slowly poisoned over time.

Our Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign is raising money to distribute SONO Arsenic Filters to people living in 10 villages in Chuadanga District, an area which is severely affected by arsenic in groundwater.

Thanks for reading and best wishes to all.
