Preventing noise induced hearing loss #Zanzibar

IMPACT Zanzibar's Primary Ear Care team visiting the Mlandege kwa Wagonga Vyuma steel workshops.

Staff here work long hours in an extremely noisy environment. 54 workers had their hearing tested and many displayed the signs of noise induced hearing loss. They will receive ongoing treatment at the ENT Unit we helped to establish in Stone Town.

All workers were fitted for protective devices for use when working and given a briefing on the effect of noise on hearing.
