Simple pleasures
Needing to clear my head, I deserted my desk and went out for a short walk in the nature reserve at lunchtime. I've been thinking of blipping these berries for a while and visualised them against a super-simple blue September sky, but it was grey when I set out so didn't seem a likely shot for today. But then, hey presto, the sky cleared, so here you are.
The shrub is the guelder rose, by the way, very visible at this time of year in the hedgerows. It's a kind of viburnum, hence the extraordinarily vivid colour. The berries are translucent too. Dead pretty, isn't it?
