Food glorious food

Eating did seem to be today's main theme. Thick slabs of French toast with peach butter to start, all pastor tacos for lunch, and a panoply of Mexican dishes this evening, starting with queso fun dido, chips with three different salsas, shrimp fajitas, rice, beans, and chocolate cake to finish. That's it.

Took the shot at breakfast sitting under Chicago's gorgeous blue skies this morning. Plan A had been to take a long walk along the lake and get some blips while the sun was still low in the sky. Suffice to say that between drivers who should not be driving in the city, a marathon along the lake shore which took out all the parking spots, and several poorly placed construction blockades my plans were foiled. Plan B: French toast at the Victory Banner Cafe

The day did improve in fits and starts. My friend K texted me that today was the last day of Art Expo and did I want to go. Sure. I was certain her text said to meet her at her flat. She did not respond to texts after waiting 10 min. outside her gate - something is amiss. Oh no, I am supposed to meet her THERE, 20 min. South and now I am already 10 min. late. Ugh. Find a parking spot (thank you!) and a taxi and I arrive in less than 15 min, only it took another 10 to find the dang entrance.

The exhibit was very good though. Most unexpectedly saw works of two of my favorite artists, Elmer Bischoff of the Bay Area Figurative Painters, and Lee Bontecou an American sculptor. There is such a wide array of new techniques and materials it is overwhelming.

And right now I am being overwhelmed by sleep so must go.
