Woman to the Churchyard Went
Sent from my iPad
Does anyone remember this song? We used to sing it occasionally at the end of Brownies/Guides. The lights were put off and I recall being genuinely scared at the chorus - ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, aah, aah, aah, aah! It ended with loud, eerie screams.
Anyway the shot is of one of two churchyards in our village and this, the more sheltered, has a lovely tranquil, cool feel to it. Today, with the dappled sunshine, it looked particularly beautiful. We joined the British Humanist Association this week and think this is probably right for us.
“Cemeteries are full of unfulfilled dreams... countless echoes of 'could have' and 'should have'… countless books unwritten… countless songs unsung... I want to live my life in such a way that when my body is laid to rest, it will be a well needed rest from a life well lived, a song well sung, a book well written, opportunities well explored, and a love well expressed.”
