A Day of Weather
A lazy morning hiding from the wind, rain, sun, rain, sun, rain………………. and teaching Jeb the fundamentals of converting RAW files (after deleting loads of shite no longer required stuff from her laptop and updating her RAW convertor).
After lunch we headed into the metropolis that is Tarbert where we wandered round and found that there are virtually no ‘locals’ work there (or even seem to live on the island). We even found a guy – Steve Brown - from Clydebank who claims to have no links to my brother-in-law who comes from Dunoon. Not convinced about that one – he is the spitting image of my nephew!....... he has lived there for 19 years , been part of the fire service for 14 and owned the excellent First Fruit café for 6 and is still thought of as ‘an incomer’ who has no right to buy a business.
I always thought The Rainbow Warrior would be bigger.
If the one in front is Lowe – does that make the one behind Lower?
This beats the painted sheet at the end of the road and is a bit more permanent, if not as obvious.
I have never seen a public electric car charger before ………… maybe I need to look for them tucked away out of sight behind building like the ferry terminal buildings.
During our walkabout we found that the photographer Laurie Campbell was giving a talk in the community centre later. So we booked our seats and nipped into the local hotel bar for a drink and a very, very nice meal.
It is quite a few years since I have seen Mr Campbell talk but he has lost none of his entertainment value – with both his talk and his images which are out of this world.
