My 17th wedding anniversary

These are the original flowers (made from sugar craft or however they are made) that were on top of my wedding cake 17 years ago. They stay in my china cabinet and are as good now as they were then.

I have just informed my daughter and her friend that around this time 17 years ago her friends grandad took my daughters granny back home to get my granny her tablets she had forgotten! The first dance was delayed until they arrived back. (basically if that sounds confusing my granny forgot her tablets so my mam had to go and get them with someone fit to drive!) first dance took place a little later than planned and we've been dancing together ever since!!!!

None of the above are with us today but I never forget the day we had when they were.

The weather didn't fail us either, we chose this third Saturday in September on good authority. My dear granny got married on the third saturday when she got married and she remembered that for 35 years it was always fine on that Saturday and the week after is usually nice too. Now - depending where you live I suppose but today in my world it has been fine all day.

I am having a glass of wine and a toast for my 17 years and remembering those not here and grateful for those who are including my two beautiful children, my family, my very good friends oh and yes my husband.
