Over the Gemmi Pass

First moving-on day of the holiday. Our route took us up over the Gemmi Pass from Leukerbad then down to Kandersteg. Fortunately we are able to (i) hand our bags over to Swiss Railways – who will for a small fee arrange to move the bag to the next hotel, and (ii) make use of cable cars for both the ascent from Leukerbad to Gemmi and for the descent from Sunnbuel to Kandersteg, meaning that we had something like a three hour mostly level walk and we only needed to carry day packs.

Unfortunately the good weather of yesterday deserted us, and our high level walk was rather shrouded in mists.
