Book Signing and Books

On Tuesday evening we joined some friends at Village Books for a book review and signing with Ivan Doig. He reviewed his latest book, "Sweet Thunder". Of course I asked him if I could take his picture signing my book and he graciously said, "Yes".

Sometime ago we had heard him review another of his books and became quite interested in his writing, especially because he focuses a lot of his stories in Montana. Our son, David and his family live in Butte. Hence, our interest in Butte. That is where the story basically takes place.

The last time our Granddaughter visited us she said I needed to read this book about Butte. It was only a short time later I saw that Ivan was going to be in Bellingham. What luck. We were able to go to the review and I bought two of his books. I will get the third in that group later. When we got home that night, we got out all of the books we had by him and were quite impressed with our little collection of books by Doig.

I could not post the picture of him signing my book because I had already used my beet pickle picture, so I printed the picture and stood it up with lined up the books and blipped the next morning. I am not sure how this worked but, I like to have pictures that tell a story so I hope this one does.
