Consider her ways
"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise." I am glad I did not sit down here as I am sure these ones were biters. There were thousands of them and the ant hill must have been a metre across. There is so much that we do not understand about the behaviour of insects and animals and the complexity of the tasks they undertake, the communication of whales and dolphins, the migration of birds, the sixth sense of dogs and so on. We consider ourselves the top of the intelligence tree but it all depends on what measure you use. In terms living in harmony and preserving our environment, we are not that great. We have skills that allow us to dominate other species and so we assume that other 'lesser' species are unintelligent. It may be that we are simply supremely arrogant and that we have not yet discovered just how intelligent they are.
