The Gear

Been slightly disrupted blipping, and some work to do to fill in some gaps, but here’s what’s happening right now …

Gear, lots (but hopefully not too much!) of it. Riding the Heaphy track again starting Friday, and the forecast isn’t looking good. Heavy rain Sat and Sunday which are the days riding at altitude across the plateau. We’re riding from the West Coast, up and over the plateau, then back, 180km’ish and around 30000m of climbing all up. All going well. Very dependent on weather, probably.

This year instead of doing racks front and back, I’m doing a rear rack and a backpack, to try and improve performance of the bike. Last year, racks front and back, and good weather.

Other changes this year, a Spot Tracker, so we’ll be “visible”. (I'll reset this tomorrow)

Been sick and/or super busy for the last 2 weeks, so there’s not been much riding. That may not matter too much, as there could be lots of pushing through very large puddles ;-)
