A loooooong night :-(

I thought it seemed too good to be true with Eva sleeping through the night, last night was the most unsettled night since the week she was born. She went down around 8pm, and I thought around 11pm that I'd go to bed myself. She woke at 11.30pm but went straight back down after a top up feed, so I thought,mom she should sleep through pretty much now. How wrong I was. She woke up at 2 am and then everything I tried failed, until she finally went back to sleep 6 am til 9 am. I tried feeds, winding, changing her nappy, tried her with Calpol for the first time in her life, which she wouldn't swallow so it went everywhere and I then had sticky Calpol to clean up, I tried cuddles, singing, readjusting her bedding. Nothing worked. Mike got up to go and sleep on Jake's bedroom floor at one point, but soon came back as the cats kept clambering over him, and he had to be up for work at 6 am. My poor baby girl, I just didn't know what to do for her.

She was so tired this morning too but wouldn't settle for a nap either. Finally, at midday, I tried something I've never done before, going in after 1 minute, then 2 minutes, then 4 minutes, then 8 minutes. By about the 6 minutes mark she was fast asleep, and slept for just over an hour. Not great, but at least she had some sleep.

I was meant to be meeting Louise and Rhys and Lou Taylor for lunch at 1.30, but I cancelled when Eva went to sleep, but then she woke at 1.40 so I did end up going late. Today's pic is of her sat on my lap in the Cricket Club wearing her cute little jacket off her Aunty Vikki that won't fit her for much longer.

I gave Eva some Calpol before her bath tonight so I could wash the stickiness off her properly in the bath, then fed her, winded her, and she was in bed fast asleep by 8 pm. She was awake crying 10 minutes later so I went up, fed and winded her some more, then put her back down. She woke again with a start, crying her eyes out around 9pm, but I lifted her out of her bed and cuddled her and she went straight back to sleep. It's now 9.45pm as I type this.

I wonder what tonight will bring? I wish I knew what was wrong. My poor baby girl :-( xxx
