A pot of soup calling

I ventured out to walk 3 miles to the paper shop in the pouring rain. Head down all the way there and back - so saw nothing to blip.

We've had lots of courgettes from the garden but I'm getting a bit bored with steamed or roasted courgette so, given the horrible weather, decided to make a pot of soup with veg from the gaeden for a change.

Looking at the courgettes there seems to be something a bit funny. The smaller one looks like it grew the wrong way round. The stump that was attached to the plant is usually at the thiner end - not in this case!
