Changing Colors
I am carefully watching my grape vine in hopes that I will be able to harvest the grapes before leaving on a vacation to Europe. Some of the clusters are nearly ready; this one needs a bit more time. With the hot weather we have been enjoying, here's hoping...
This stretch of hot weather makes me think we are having an Indian Summer. An Indian summer is described as a heat wave that occurs in the autumn. It refers to a period of considerably above-normal temperatures, accompanied by dry and hazy conditions, usually after there has been a killing frost. However, we have not had frost and technically, it is not autumn for another week. So, maybe this is an extension of summer. Whatever it is, the grapes love it!
