Now we have everything

Scrambled, poached or fried?

Charlie has his first proper cold (though he was very congested when he was first born). He can't breathe and woke up crying every hour or so last night. I brought him into our bed at about 1am as he wanted to feed a lot, poor baby.

Despite that we were up and out early (for us!) today to trial a new baby group: Hartbeeps. It's quite expensive for each class so I wanted to see if it's something Charlie would enjoy before signing up. Plus it starts at 10:30am which is the start of his usual sleepy time.

We went along and he loved it. The 'production value' was much higher than with Tiny Tunes and the other drop it's we've been to. They've definitely thought about the session structure and content and the props were great. The hello song was sweet, as was the 'sunshine' blanket (like a parachute). The two puppet 'hosts' then introduced today's activity as cooking. Charlie was given a chefs hat, a bowl and spoon and loads of ingredients. It's a good job they were all plastic otherwise he would've eaten all the raw ingredients but he seemed to enjoy the cooking song.

Finally it was time to say goodbye. The babies- abs there were a lot, at least a dozen or so - were each given a mini pillow, blanket and a nightlight that changed colour. The lights were turned off and the night sky was projected onto the ceiling. I was half asleep myself before the session actually ended!

Unsurprisingly the little man conked out on his pushchair afterwards. I headed over to the nearby cafe with Emily for a coffee. Two of her neighbours from the group joined us and seeing as C was still asleep we ended up getting lunch. Of course he woke as soon as it arrived! He got to have some of my falafel wrap and then he had my emergency Ella's kitchen pouch from the change bag.

We took a walk into Muswell Hill afterwards to pick up a few bits for a tea and by the time we got home , we'd been out 5 hours! It was a lovely way to spend the day and Charlie seemed to enjoy it so I think we'll sign up for the term.

Oh, Charlie has started becoming incredibly vocal again. His favourite word to babble is 'Dadad'. It was constant on the walk back from Muswell Hil.
