At the Windsor Art Fair
Arrived just as the pipe and drum band was ready to lead a parade with tall puppets and happy children running behind. The tall black-coated puppet is ready to parade.
The bagpipes were such a cheerful and inviting sound on this cold, cloudy drizzly day.
I asked one of them afterward what clan their kilt pattern represented. (Now I know this is like bringing coal to Newcastle, but...) he replied, "St Andrew's ..."something or other. That does not sound like an authentic clan to my ears. But this is in Windsor , NY.
Interesting how many of the town names in upstate and central NY state are English. When the area settled after the Revolutionary War many of the people were English or still had fond memories of the old homeland and named their towns and villages after English places.
I met a fine bird photographer at the fair and told him in detail about blipfoto. If he wrote the address down correctly then he could be joining. I bought cards from him. Friends bought a large mat-framed photo.
