The Village Show

I wasn't sure if I would be able to enter any photos in the little village show this year because I didn't think my back would allow me to get to the village hall. I had to be driven the relatively short distance to make the entries, which was quite a painful experience, but I made it. I decided to dose myself up with painkillers and risk the walk when it was time to go and collect the photos. I managed to get myself there (albeit very very slowly, which really frustrated hubby) and was thrilled to find that I had achieved two second places out of five entries. We have a very strong amateur photography contingent in the village, so the standard of the entries is always extremely high and competition between them is quite fierce, I'm viewed as a bit of a 'new kid on the block' because I've only been taking photos for a couple of years. I feel very pleased to get this result but I was disappointed not to get anything at all in the 'Bird' category - however the three that were placed were stunning, so I'm not too surprised. It was really lovely to get a bit of fresh air and a change of scenery, even if I will probably pay for it tomorrow :-))
