A walk of delights
Today is the start of our walking group's annual weekend away. This year we are staying at the Patterdale Hotel, which is very walker friendly.
We met up at Pooley Bridge for a short walk, taking in Dacre Church and castle and Dalemain House. At Dacre we all explored the churchyard to find the 4 bear effigies there. In the church there is some fine stained glass including an etched window by Whistler and a memorial window to Willie Whitelaw.
We met this delightful elderly man at his house. He really enjoyed the chat and we enjoyed seeing his bird feeding prowess. He has a beautiful garden and the roe deer came down to feed when he called them.
After an excellent evening meal we enjoyed hearing the newbies to our group doing their turns. The entertainment was hysterical.
The only frustration has been the lack of internet access and the inability of Photoshop CS5 to open the raw files from the J1 camera. 'Nuf said, but explains why this is a back blip.
