At Dormington: Maggies world.....x

On a rainy day, Artist Clare Hearne is a ray of sunshine. A multitasker of life. A doer. A creator. A strong little lady.

I say this like I know her well. I met Clare for the first time this afternoon. Totally unfazed by the pelting rain drops, her head appeared from her travelling wagon. The wagon, a real artisan hideout is actually hired out for 'Glamping' purposes. It's beautiful planned wagon, filled with travellers trinkets accessible to children's imaginations. Bobbins, whirry things, coloured fluffy bits, things that you can organise. A beautiful location too, even in the rain. The old spot piglets squeal messages to from their pen. And there's room for a game of tennis too.

This isn't why we came here. That's the bonus. Clare Hearne, and her little bespoke company, Maggies World on our art trail. Inspired from her daughter, Maggies playful mind its an intelligent mixed media journey. See

Clare's experience and passion is the serious stuff. She started painting commercially from 13years old. A mostly on portraits, and illustrations. Her daughter, Mags is heading the same way, and Clare's is inspired by her thinking. Do look at the website. She also has an impressive commission list namely the Royal College of Surgeons bold and vibrant illustrative posters.

Clare's a smart lady, once qualified in medicine. Now a strong artist, the two do go hand in hand. Clare's work and the environment she has built connects with people. She says, "you help people in medicine, and you help people with art".

The two are not separate. Healing inside and out.....x
