Double Arch, Arches National Park

Today brought an early morning return trip to Canyonlands to watch the sunrise at Mesa Arch. As expected this was a popular venue and there was a scramble for viewpoints. Fortunately the American photographer has little patience and when low cloud prevented the suns breakthrough many dispersed. We stayed around until the sun eventually appeared and were rewarded with lovely highlights on the arch and the room to photograph where we wished. In the afternoon we had the first of two visits to Arches National Park. Which focussed on Turret Arch and North and South windows. Close by is Double Arch, a pair of closely coupled arches which feature in the opening scenes of Indians Jones and the Last Crusade.
