Lighthouse

I have been behind with the end of the holiday and moving. I looked at my last entry and realised that Henri was my 600th entry. 600 would be a good number to stop at and I very nearly did; however, I have decided I just need to get my arse in gear edit all the photos I have taken and start to upload them. It may take a while to get round to looking over other journals.

This is Phare de Chassiron on the Île d'Oléron. It is 46 metres high and its powerful lights can be seen at a distance of up to 52km. Visitors have to climb up 224 steps to get to the top; we didn't.
