Queen Anne gets a little "prickly" in the Fall...
Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Carrot, Daucus carota, whatever you'd like to call it, is done for the summer. After several weeks of lovely, lacy sprays of white, delicate flowers, the prickly, stick to your pets fruits have formed and are curling up for the harsh weather to come.
One of the first biological specimens I ever observed with a Scanning Electron Microscope was one of the spines of these prickly seeds. At 1000x they look like dragon's toes.
