Fisheyeing the Almhouses!

After the popularity of yesterday's circular fisheye Blip of red phone boxes at night, here are the local Almhouses, all lit up and twinkly.

I had tried blipping them before, with my then, new, 10-24mm on the DX D7000.

When I went to get yesterday's, I did a quick handheld shot at maximum aperture of these Almhouses and saw that the overhead lamp made a neat circle and would be an ideal candidate for a decent circular fisheye treatment. Lens is Sigma DG 8mm f3.5. The equivalent focal length on a DX is just 4.5mm!

I also wanted to see if and how much the tripod would impede into the frame - on LARGE you can just see the shadow of the legs bottom left. You can also see right on the extreme left edge, the rest of the street! The metal gates are just 10 or so inches from the lens here and the lamp is directly overhead - that's some depth of field and angle of view! (One hundred and eighty degrees, in each and every direction...)

The colour original looked good, with the red flowers growing in the boxes showing nicely, as this light above is white, but the streetlamps which light the front, are that dingy orangey rust colour. As I wanted to compare this with the previous Blip in the link, I did a black and white variation copy and preferred it, after some extra contrast and a bit of sharpening too.

I promise you a change from fisheye images tomorrow, too many and the novelty will wear off, I guarantee. Thanks to all for getting yesterday's up into the spotlight - much appreciated!
