There's a big sign at the entrance to Limehouse Conservation Area advertising a new biodiversity project under way to remove "invasive species" from the area. "I suppose stray balls from the nearby baseball pitch are invasive," said Jools as she picked this one from the debris of red, red, crab apples that had fallen from the surrounding trees. "Wonder if we get a reward for turning it in . . . "
