Fish On A Stick

Strange. It's a great summer afternoon, the sun's shining, there's a beautiful sky with big fluffy clouds - and not a soul in sight at the kids' area of Prospect Park at Acton, Ontario. In fact, there's hardly any life at all in the park, apart from a couple of fishermen casting hopeful lines into Fairy Lake, a convoy of fairground trucks lined up ready to unload their magic for next weekend's Fall Fair, and a bunch of teenagers in a secluded corner drinking beer and contributing their chapter to life's annual Diary of Disaffected Youth.

The gasping fish (better bigger) perched high on a pole in the middle of the splash pad is doing very well, though, despite the absence of water or kids . . . perhaps he knows something those teens don't know
