this state park is one of several that have an equestrian loop for campers that bring their horses. There are paddocks available, and most of the trails/ dirt roads are for horseback riding as well as hiking. I noticed a family of Caracaras were hanging around the horse enclosures, and the adult birds were showing this youngster how to scratch at the dirt, but I couldn't see what they were finding.
There were more horses here at one time than we've seen before.
