Hydrangea

Back in May (although I can't find a blip of it) one of our son's bought this plant for his mum. Initially it looked great, but then it got battered by the wind and scorched by the sun and we thought we had lost it. So I moved it to the back garden in a sheltered spot, applied water regularly and over the next few weeks it gradually recovered and then really filled out with leaves, and now its got one large flower and several more appearing.

Its wonderful what a bit of care and attention can do. Probably it had been forced on at first, without really having time to consolidate itself. and then it became overstretched and lacked the resources to cope with what life threw at it! I wonder if sometimes we do that to people too, overstretch them and then act surprised when they suffer!
