Day 4

Today was a free day, for us to use to explore and relax. Having gone four days without purchasing any groceries, we headed over to a market held in Szimpla. Szimpla is one of the many ruin pubs in Budapest (think an old abandoned building converted into a dark, twisty pub with lounges, graffiti, and a very mellow feel). On Sundays, though, the pub is opened up to a market filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, cheese, and bread (I can name a few friends that I know would love to see it...). My roommate and I stocked up on some fresh produce, like blackberries. It's still very hard to process just how inexpensive the food is here... but it makes me a very happy camper knowing that fruits and vegetables won't empty my wallet.

A full day of fruit-groping, walking, and not getting lost well spent. Hopefully I'll get a blog post out tonight or tomorrow on the past few days that will feature some other highlights (like an amazing fountain we stumbled on today!!!!).
