Montbretia Abstract

The Montbretia (crocosmia) is holding up well to the change in the weather. Today's blip is a tribute to this common garden plant which I have blipped a few times in different ways over recent weeks.

This abstract rendering involves a number of filters including polar coordinates and poster edges. I think these draw attention to its essential characteristics - its vivid little flowers, its stunning sculptural leaves and its resistance to water. Droplets are clearly visible on the leaves which had collapsed in this patch, allowing me to adopt a high viewpoint from my house steps and use the leaves as a backdrop for the blooms.
