Today I went into town for a walking tour tracing the River Medlock through Manchester. (It is the sort of stuff I enjoy. What can I say?)
To me this is fascinating. To others paint drying (slowly) holds more appeal.
There were a couple from 'down south' who were expecting a wildlife stroll along a riverbank.
The Medlock is a river that (through Manchester) flows between buildings, under culverts and has survived a long history of abuse.
This shot was not taken on the river Medlock.
I do imagine what it was like when the Medlock was graced with a river bank.
The Medlock is a survivor and a true Manchester River.
