A Day of Fun Puns and Fun People

Today, the concert day finally arrived. I bought presale tickets for Fun. and Teagan & Sara months ago, and August 31st arrived really quite fast.

Fran was heading home soon, so she ended up coming to the concert with me. So around 9am we said our goodbyes to Luke, and Fran hustled around the ranch, saying her goodbyes to rest of the staff. We jumped into the car and started the trek to Vancouver.

On the way we had some great chats, ranging from friends, school, life, and musical instruments (naturally). About 2 hours in, Fran took a car nap, and I proceeded to go into autopilot and my lead foot kicked in. This resulted in an angry cop storming out into the middle of the freeway (super smart, buddy) and an expensive speeding ticket.

I had to accept it and take it as a lesson, so I did. There was no way I was going to let anything damper my excitement for the concert. We hit Vancouver around 1pm and dropped our stuff off at my friend Emily's place, and then headed downtown to the concert.

It was so much Fun. Pun intended. But really, it was great. We were in the park for 6 hours, and it was a typical good concert experience. Impossibly long line-ups for overpriced merchandise, pricy food with grease that sticks to your arteries, and amazing performances from talented musicians.

The concert ended at 10pm, and we flopped into bed around 11:30. Solid night. I was only in Vancouver for the night, but it was a great night with good friends. I only wish I could have stayed longer to catch up with Emily. She's been one of my best friends for over 7 years, and I feel like we haven't had a good catch up in a long time.
