A New Lighthouse...An Old Man...An Old Boat

My sisters are a little upset that I'm posting another picture of my dad...but hey...ya gotta pose if you're going to make the post.

I almost didn't stop at this lighthouse this morning...because it's a replica of the light that used to stand here. I HATE REPLICAS...I HATE REPRODUCTIONS!!!

But...it's so pretty, and in such a pretty setting, so it made the final cut. It is located in Edenton, North Carolina...an old river town.

Today, we marked off another state capitol. Raleigh, North Carolina. The outside is a little deceiving. Small, and not very imposing. But, it gives way to a very impressive interior. George Washington again in the lobby...this time a very young George. Maybe a few years after he chopped down the cherry tree.

We are spending the night in Mt. Airy, N.C. It is the place that Mayberry (The Andy Griffith Show)was based on. Tomorrow morning, we see some Andy and Opie stuff. Throw in a little Goober, Gomer, Floyd, Otis, and Aunt Bea...and you got yourself a show.
