Cabbage white

I took this picture of a cabbage white on our buddleia this afternoon. The original image was OK but somehow missed the detail and clarity so I had a play with Photoshop using some of the blend mode techniques that I learned recently.

This was imported as two layers into photoshop. The bottom layer was converted to B&W using Silver Efex with a harsh filter.

The top layer blend mode was set to colour.

The improvement in the detail and apparent sharpness quite surprised me. Here is a link to the original image so you can judge for yourselves.
