Edible Lavender

We were in the country on Sunday having a nice time with family. Our niece and hubby just bought a nice home and they were showing us around. The former owners had a large garden with lots of herbs along with vegetables. I spotted the kind of lavender that I'm hoping is the edible kind that can used in a recipe for "Lavender Truffles". It sounds so good and I hadn't known that not all lavender can be used in cooking. I took this picture of the lavender beside a picture of our girls that was taken at the beach a few years ago. I remember it as a very fun time with our girls.
If anyone can identify this lavender to assure me it is the edible kind, I'd really appreciate it.
