Not a Ladybird
A couple of months back there were a few ladybirds about but I've seen none for weeks.
Today this relative found its way into the house; I put it outside and then took its pic. It's a Harlequin beetle with the pleasing official name of Harmonium axyridis spectabilis and there are many varieties.
However, there is a concern that because these beetles are not native, they may cause harm to our eco-systems, not to mention our native ladybirds. Perhaps this is already happening.
It's still summer! Hooray!
