On Monday we heard of a three day pelagic trip out of the Scillies this weekend. By Tuesday we'd booked onto it, got B&B sorted on Scilly and a couple of places booked on the Scillonian ferry and agreed to meet up with John in St Ives.

So today we're driving down to Cornwall with a wee off route detour to Prawle Point in Devon to hopefully connect with the very localised Cirl Bunting. Those minor roads in Devon really are quite interesting! Just as well we found or birds, would have hated to remember that drive as a wasted journey. You'll need to go over to RCB though to find their photo. We actually connected with them virtually on leaving the car park but didn't see them again in the hour that we remained there.

Next stop Penzance and an unsuccessful attempt to find a B&B, but John came up with one in St Ives that was absolutely perfect, then, talking of absolutely perfect we met up with John and after a pint headed to his favourite Indian - and when John says an Indian is good, you just know it's going to be rather special.
