How we've laughed today! I think it must have been due to the excitement of being able to have a shower for the first time in 3 days! We were treated to a typical Malagasy breakfast consisting of rice soup with potatoes and carrots and lots of ginger!

Another day on the pirogue with the sun fiercely beating on us - managed to find shelter underneath my sarong-turned-tent for a while! We saw a fair few crocodiles and turtles today which was exciting! Glad we didn't capsize at all during the last few days...

By lunchtime we reached a small village from which we had to walk for a while through muddy rivers until reaching the 4x4 which would take us to our next destination. Luckily a zebu cart carried our backpacks and tents for us! We also had to travel part of the journey on 'bac' - a sort of ferry type thing. It was pretty amazing watching the 4x4 going up and down a rather steep ramp - impressive stuff!
