Something Adventurous
It's been about three months since I had my last photography gig.
And for being the freelance photographer that I am---it's amazing that I've had the pleasure of being hired multiple times to do actual events or portraits of people. Finally, another photography job found it's way to me and here is one picture of the endeavour I went on. Got hired to take pictures of some mighty fine rental property and I found this jewel among the various rooms. It reminded me of fonder times in my life, and managed to get smile out of me as I ventured the apartments. I couldn't help but snag one photo of it.
About two years ago, my younger self took great curiosity in the ocean and in the stars. Couldn't tell you much about it either one of them, except that I love to just sit and stare in their presences. I wanted to name my future band The Mayflower and also have it tie with something extraterrestrial. (space related) I have spent countless hours beneath the stars pondering about the depths of space & of sea. But probably one of the most serene moments I've ever had with nature occurred on a beach. I was on a trip with my Venture Crew (a co-ed boy/girl scouts) and we spent a night or two at the beach. Our first midnight there was unbelieveable. The winds tore at our tents and threw everything about, and I simply couldn't bare it. A terrible sense of claustrophobia came over me and immediately I set out. Dragging my sleeping bag behind me, I marched thusly out of the tent and put the blanket onto the surface of picnic table overlooking the shore and the widespread sea. I fell asleep to the sound of moonlit waves rushing against the dry sand, and awoke to a pink dawn warming up the ocean and bringing life to every creature in it's reach. The now gentle wind tossed my curly hair about as I rose my weary head to gawk at the glowing scene before me... To this day, I have never forgotten those sights and sounds--and even the smell. It filled my every senses with-with...adventure.
