Happy Birthday Hubbie!
Ethan had complained last night of having a sore head, but as he has been messing about at bedtime a lot recently, I didn't really believe him. This morning he again mentioned he had a sore head, but then didn't mention it again. We went out in the morning to book the venue for his birthday party and then went to the library. By then he was getting really tearful and grumpy so we went back home. He had a bit of lunch, some calpol and quiet time on the sofa, then seemed better, so I took him up to nursery for his afternoon session.
However apparently he soon wilted once there, had a nap (which he has NEVER done during the 8 months he has been going to that nursery) and then was clearly not well, so they phoned to say he needed to come home. I was working out in the garden and didn't hear the phone, so they had to phone hubbie who went to get him! Ethan was really distressed, not just crying but screaming in pain, so we took him straight to the doctors. We had a bit of a long wait to see the GP and Ethan fell asleep in hubbies arms in the waiting room. Typically, by the time we got called through, he had perked up! The doctor couldn't find anything specific wrong but thinks he has some sort of virus which he just needs to work out of his system and says a high temperature can cause headaches.
Back home, he felt well enough to be in charge of putting the candles on hubbies birthday cake! Good to have a bit of distraction from feeling unwell!
I had been planning on taking Hubbie and Ethan out for a birthday meal this evening, but it was takeaway pizza instead as didn't think Ethan was up to it.
