Speckly!!

So here we are September 1st first day of Autumn........I am feeling miserable already! Hopefully keeping my daily blip going through the Autumn and Winter will see me through....I usually get very cross and have a paddy with this awful country around the end of November, but we shall see!!!
Today Mr U&L and I went into our local town to see the vintage busses, but sadly there was only one there (instead of the usual 30 or so) there was a food fair in the town centre though so we stayed a bit for that , and I took a few pics which I will share in my Blipfolio, including one of two lovely ladies dressed up as 40's 'char ladies' serving cups of tea, such good sports!
On the way home Dylan found this 'Grasshopper' on the road. I was quite pleased as it is yet another of our native crickets, the Speckled bush cricket Leptophyes punctatissima. This cricket is flightless, and common in well vegetated areas of the UK, from the midlands southwards. As the name suggests they are 'speckled' with tiny black spots, this is much more pronounced in the nymphs, see 24th June) The adult females (and this is a female) have a large upturned ovipositor.
I hope you don't mind this little theme I have going on here, but I just seem to keep finding crickets at the mo lol!
